(Vertigo, Tippi Hedren, Citizen Kane)The Year of Hitchcock podcast is BACK for another round of talk about classic movies, Alfred Hitchcock, and the occasional chatter about whatever happens to spring into our heads. After a lengthy hiatus that we THOUGHT marked the end of the show, we got requests for our return. We listened. So now Eric San Juan and Jim McDevitt have decided to get the podcast up and running again. This time, rather than a film-by-film look at Hitchcock's work, we'll be discussing classic films, legendary actors and actresses, our favorite directors, great television, and whatever else springs to mind ... along with a helping of Alfred Hitchcock news every episode. In the first episode of our return, we discuss Hitchcock's relationship with Tippi Hedren, his work on Vertigo, the legend that is Citizen Kane, and other odds and ends. Look forward to new episodes each month. Enjoy!
The last show. Our last hurrah. So we, "we" being Eric San Juan and Jim McDevitt, thank you for sticking with us through this long podcasting journey, and hope along the way you've checked out our book. It has been a lot of fun bringing this casual, laid back companion to our book on the films of Alfred Hitchcock. Over the course of 65 episodes (ignore the poor numbering on our mp3 files) we've met great people like Norman Buckley and Joel Gunz. And most of all, we've had a great time doing it. Thanks for listening.

Blogspot readers, just click the headline to download the episode! Thankfully, here we get to talk about a somewhat overlooked masterpiece. We're talking about his 1973 film Frenzy, a harrowing, brutal and explicit take on many of Hitchcock's typical themes. We think that's a great way to celebrate the release of the paperback edition of our book, wouldn't you say?
This week, Eric and Jim pick at Sir Alfred's landmark film about obsession, Vertigo, a film that manages to make even the always likable Jimmy Stewart look fairly loathsome. Our hiatus is over. Jim and Eric are so excited about the upcoming paperback edition of A Year of Hitchcock: 52 Weeks with the Master of Suspense that we've hit the mic and started recording again. From this point forward, expect an episode every two weeks -- sometimes every week -- until we've finished this casual, fun-oriented audio companion to our book. This week, we shake the slumber from our eyes (in this case, literally; we recorded this episode early, before coffee) and discuss the first few years of Hitch's classic TV show, Alfred Hitchcock Presents. It's not a rip-roaring, energetic start, but the important thing is ... we're back! Enjoy!

Blogspot readers, just click the headline to download the episode!
